Nobis Prioritizes Technical Apparel Systems for Transitional 2023 Collection

Nobis is setting a new standard for performance outerwear with their new collection

The collection sets a new standard for performance outerwear by introducing a new category of bottoms that looks to further Nobis’ commitment of creating a complete and multi-functional wardrobe that complements one’s everyday pursuits to embrace the elements.

Intention, utility, and research led to the design of the Transitional 2023 collection. With Design Director Michael Kerr at the helm, versatile layering took on new meaning, with new products in the outerwear, mid-layer, and hybrid sweater lines. Newly added this season to further Nobis’ firm stance on technical apparel systems are the DECKER and CURT men’s performance tailored shorts, the CODY men’s tailored travel blazer, the KIT women’s performance tailored shorts, and the PHORA women’s tailored skirt.

“The Transitional 2023 collection represents our continued commitment to creating highly functional lifestyle outerwear constructed to exceed consumer expectations within and surrounding the seasons for which they were created,” says Robin Yates, Nobis Co-founder and Vice President. “T23 transitions from season to season by focusing on modular pieces that can be worn independently or together as technical apparel systems.”

The collection introduces a new seasonal print, the Heat Map, which was inspired by the magnitude of seasonal variation across the globe at any given time. To hone in the collection's intent to inspire exploration, Nobis introduces three new colour offerings, Dark Citron green, Comfrey tea, and Deep Lake marine blue.

Other major highlights from this collection include the MODA men’s tailored quilted vest, the STRATUS men’s tailored packable rain jacket, LEXI women’s tailored short mid-layer, the VIVA women’s performance cropped jacket, and genderless accessories, including the LETO performance fishing bucket and TYRM performance racer cap.

"Our latest collection is inspired by our need to be social and our connection to the outdoors after being in lockdown for so long," says Michael Kerr, Nobis' Senior Design Director. "This collection channeled the ideas interwoven in functional beauty to be adaptable and versatile, protected and comfortable wherever the adventure takes you.”

Designed with intention, the collection speaks to the importance of circular design, encompassing more recyclable materials than ever before. This curated collection includes the highly sustainable PrimaLoft® stretch insulation, a thermally synthetic microfiber that delivers breathable warmth to create dry, comfortable, and regulated temperatures, allowing excess moisture vapour that builds up during aerobic activity to escape.

Other fabrications used this season include 100% Wool, Stretch Toray, Stretch Nylon, Cotton blend, and Shiny Nylon Taffetta. Nobis’ membrane laminations, seam-sealed construction, and durable water repellent finishes come together to create long-lasting, machine-washable pieces to transition with ease.
